Zona 78 in Tucson

Portions were large and the service was above average. However, the food quality was low, especially for the price.

We're frequent visitors to Zona 78. What we love is it's made fresh. No food comes out of the kitchen uncooked. They make the pizza inside a pizza oven with an open fire. You can actually see the crust rise. It's a beautiful sight.

Zona 78 is one of our favorite places to eat. The quality of the food is always outstanding and very delicious. The service is excellent and the atmosphere is always conducive to relaxing and private conversation. We enjoy dining with just each other or with large gatherings.

One of the best Happy Hour places - only goes until 6, but all Apps are $5 of, and they are tasty and good quality, so definitely worth it! Our server (I can't remember her name, I think it was similar to Johanna?) was fantastic, checking in with us and making sure to get our last orders in before 6. Place gets pretty packed by 5:45, so make sure to get there as early as you can to be able to pick your seats.

This is great food. We visited mid-afternoon and had the selection of where to sit. The server adapted to our requests by bringing one of the pizzas for all of us to share. Lots of the food ingredients are made in-house and are delicious. My grilled cheese was fabulous. We'll all be back.

This place is great, but they did break our hearts by removing the "donut milkshake" from their menu.

Great pizza, great happy hour

Most restaurants do not offer the level of flavor that you will get from the food at Zona 78. The pizza is outstanding. The menu is varied and has a lot of great choices. The pesto stands as being one of the best from Italian restaurants in the city, it has a strong flavor that creates an excellent bite, it's not underwhelming like other pasta dishes I've had elsewhere. Understandably, the prices may damper the experience for some. Expect to spend between $16-20 on a plate. However, I have never felt that the food did not warrant the prices. And the portions are sizable, meaning you aren't going to feel like you didn't get enough food.

I just had the roasted Brussels sprouts, mushrooms and bacon appetizer, and it was unbelievably good.

Truly a great experience. Have become a regular for lunch and recently got to experience happy hour - talk about more bang for your buck! I highly recommend a visit. Tell Hector Nicki sent you. 🙂

Food is good. They take a while to see you, in order to be seated.

Service was no bueno. Very slow. Even slower for the food to come out. All that would be ok if the food was good. However, we did not enjoy the food either tho. Definitely like my pastas and these were not up to par unfortunately.

Worst pizza I have ever eaten in my life and I have had pizza all across the US, in Europe and in South America. Expensive bad pizza. Two thumbs way down. It was very bland and not good & the crust was FLAVORLESS and too hard. Very disappointing.... I would definitely not recommend.

The prices at a tad too high for the amount of food. But the food was delicious. The wait staff were a little inattentive. I suggest that they offer free bread with the meals. They have a wood oven for the pizzas. How about some artesan Italian bread? A couple little pieces of bread for each diner would make a world of difference.

Great pizza, good 🍷. Tables are socially distanced with hand sanitizer stations at frequent intervals. Crew was masked, gloved and courteous, as always.

This is a lively eatery! Food is great too! They are a separate pizza station that concentrates on those yummy pie selections they offer, even gluten free option too. Happy Hour is a must! They make their own sausage, mozzarella and carry local brews.

Excellent Italian food. Great pizza. Some well-made unusual dishes such as the calamari appetizer. The glazed salmon is delicious. This restaurant can be lively and noisy, but never unbearably so.

Super fantastic all-star all the way around! garlic bread, Mediterranean pasta and causer salad delivered...I was wrong and thought the salad was iceberg but I was wrong and was called with a very nice message. We decide to try this place after hearing it being advertised on the radio. We were not let down at all. The food and service were fantastic! Plus the milkshakes while looking like heart attack are delicious! Will definitely be doing it again!

Took my wife here for mother’s day. If you’re looking for a change in Tucson and want an excellent higher class, “fancier” sit down experience, but don’t want to QUITE spend $300 for one meal, this is it. The service was exquisite, they even catered hand and foot to our one year old daughter. And the food was to die for. All super fresh and authentic. We’re fans for life.

This was the most delicious meal I have had in a very long time. Having celiac disease makes it difficult to get a good meal out. The Bolognese was perfect...they make wonderful gluten free linguine, and they put fresh ricotta cheese on top. It literally made me cry...it was that delicious. Whoever made that sauce KNOWS what they're doing. The calamari was TENDER and amazing with just enough spice. It would go great over the linguine. It is usually served with ciabatta, for all the mouthwatering sauce. I will say I would have loved to have had some gluten free bread type item, maybe just some flat bread made from the pizza dough. The pizza I ordered to take home was even good cold! I can't wait to go back and try the house made(!) charcuterie plate before we go back to PA. The server was very personable and helpful. Too pricey for the amount of food.Most places will give you an accompaniment with an entree like a salad and maybe some bread. Not so here. My Idaho trout was detailed as being served alongside potatoes, onion, bacon and green beans. It's a $20 dish and I only got 4 potato chip sized slices of the potato and about 10 green beans. While the food was delicious it's way overpriced for the amount you get.

Ummm wow! Got the medditrean pizza and the chop chop salad. It was so delicious l had to stop myself from licking the plate. So worth every penny.

Lunch with Church Group, 25 of us. Great staff, food arrived quickly and it was good. I had the meatball sandwich and really enjoyed it. First time there, I was impressed.

We have been here often as it's one of the few places on the far East side of Tucson where you can get a great glass of wine (my wife is picky) and I can get a good selection of beers. We often sit in the fairly small bar area as it's nice/casual and we can see sports. The main restaurant area is a bit more upscale/quite.During the summer (when they are a bit slow) they have an amazing Sunday night special and you can get a Pizza+Bottle of wine for a great price.Service is always great.VictorB

The food is amazing and the wait staff is even better. We were greeted with warm and friendly congenial greetings. I highly recommend this place for lunch, I have yet to go back for dinner. The menu was very exceptional and they offered a wide variety of adult beverages and soft drinks for everybody. I will definitely be going back in the near future because it was a great dining experience.

Open and sanitized for your protection! Seriously, lots of space between diners, masked employees, menus cleaned between uses. And same great service and food as always at Zona. Support local business and come on out!

I called in to place an order for take out at 7pm as andit turned to 701pm. The host (James) told me the kitchen closed at 7pm. What frustrates me the most is that I done here ALL the time and as I'm trying to support local there was no mention of trying to accommodate being 1 minute over. This is the absolute worst customer service I've received from them. They didn't even offer to ask management for any exception. As an essential worker I'm out working in the community and all I wanted was a nice meal at the end of the day. Never again! Good job losing anlotal customer.

Some of the best italian food I have ever had. Customer service and environment is also wonderful. James was very kind and genuine, amazing energy from him!

Zona’s is a nice restaurant and it was very crowded on a Sunday evening. It seemed like a popular local place. We were tired from driving all day so we just wanted something fast and easy so we could get some rest. We ordered a pizza with only pepperoni. It was very tasty and we enjoyed it. Looking around at other plates the food seemed plentiful. We would definitely go back.

Wow! Everything was delicious! First time and will definitely be going back. Server was awesome,sorry forgot his name, friendly and attentive. Hummus platter hit the spot and the pizza was 🔥

The service was great. I was here with a party of five, and everyone had a great time. Parking was easy. The endless mimosas were perfect and flowed endlessly.

Excellent flavors. Both in the trout as well as the shrimp alfredo. Would have liked to have seen more of our server. Overall it was a very good experience

The building was nice, but I went in for an interview and the manager seemed he had never managed a day in his life.Demanded a different working schedule than the one I had advised of and then admitted to not being able to communicate properly or send proper communication out. This place is sub par for how high end it is supposed to be.
